1. Scope of this policy

This policy covers information collected through bjwcon.shop (pages visited, form submissions, correspondence) and information received in the ordinary course of our consulting work — engagement briefs, statements of work, client data provided for analysis, findings and deliverables. It does not govern third-party websites we link to, and it supplements — never replaces — confidentiality clauses in signed engagements.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

• Contact details: name, organization, email address and phone number sent through the brief form or email.
• Brief content: the question, context and timeline you describe.
• Engagement data: where an engagement is signed, client-provided operational, HR, financial or technical data reasonably required for the analysis — always under the engagement's confidentiality terms.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, collected by our hosting provider for security and delivery.
• No tracking pixels: we do not run advertising pixels or cross-site trackers on this website.

2.3 Information we do not want

Do not send confidential client data, employee records, privileged materials or payment details through website forms or ordinary email. Engagement data moves only under a signed confidentiality framework.

3. How we use information

• Responding to engagement briefs and scoping conversations.
• Preparing statements of work, proposals and fee schedules.
• Performing the engagement: analysis, findings, recommendations and deliverables.
• Maintaining engagement files and conflict-of-interest records.
• Meeting legal, tax and record-keeping obligations under Utah and federal law.
• Protecting clients, the firm and correspondents from fraud and impersonation, and enforcing our terms.

4. Legal bases & consent

We process personal information to respond to inquiries you initiate, to prepare and perform engagements you are party to, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests in running a professional consulting practice. Where consent is the basis you may withdraw it by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect prior processing.

5. Disclosure of information

We do not sell personal information. We may share it with:

• Engagement personnel and subcontractors — only as needed for the matter and under confidentiality obligations;
• Service providers hosting, email and records systems under confidentiality obligations;
• Regulators and courts where the law requires;
• Successors if the firm is reorganized or merged, subject to the same confidentiality.

6. Confidentiality of engagement files

Statements of work, client data, analyses, drafts and deliverables are confidential. Access is limited to the engagement team. Findings and recommendations belong to the client under the engagement terms — we never publish or reuse them elsewhere.

7. Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards: restricted access to engagement files, encryption in transit for hosted services, and phone verification before acting on any instruction that changes banking, scope or deliverable recipients. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires.

8. Retention

• Briefs: retained while the engagement is being scoped; declined inquiries are archived or deleted within 24 months.
• Engagement files: retained for the periods required by the engagement agreement, Utah law and our records schedule; client data is returned or destroyed per the engagement terms.
• Server logs: retained by the hosting provider under its own schedule.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and may object to certain processing. We will honor requests as the law permits — noting that engagement and legal-retention duties may limit deletion. Email reach.saoirse.byrne@bjwcon.shop with the subject "Privacy Request."

10. Children

This website addresses business correspondents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Impersonation & fee-fraud warning

We will never email you unexpected invoices, new wire instructions, retainer demands or requests for credentials outside your engagement. If you receive such a message claiming to be from BJW, verify by phone at +1 (858) 933-2880 before acting — using a number you already know, not one from the suspicious message.
